What a great place to eat! Vegetarian friendly, and so relaxing! I haven't been able to find any authentic places like that here in Houston.. but maybe someone will open one. I'm sure they would make a killing. I guess you have to be keen on feet, and I'd be scared someone would take my shoes..

Hi Erika. I have friends who really like Caravan, but I've always been hesitant to go there - I often find veggie restaurants to be bland (though I do like Candle 79) and the servers to be a bit loopy. I doubt I'll be checking it out any time soon.

I visited Macondo a second time for a friend's Birthday. They have a fantastic deal for group dinners: $25 each for essentially all-you-can-eat of 10-15 tapas of your choice. Drinks not included. You get a ton of bang for your buck! Unfortunately our table wasn't ready when we arrived. They had seated another table for 12, an hour ahead of us. How can a table for 12 possibly finish eating in an hour? Well they didn't. Macondo remedied the situation and gave us a round of drinks after we'd waited for fifteen minutes. We ended up waiting 45 minutes at the crowded bar. After speaking to the manager they gave us two free pitchers of sangria for the wait. They somehow created a table for 12 (since the other people weren't leaving), but it really only seated 10 and we were squished and pretty miffed, but they did remedy the situation by apologizing many times and giving us the free drinks. Food was as delicious as the first time but they need to learn to space reservations apart more.
