Top 10 Reasons Why I’m Pumped About Turkey

August 3rd, 2007

So, I’m leaving in less than an hour and I felt I had to dedicate a post to my upcoming family trip to Turkey. It seems that whenever I mention my trip, people rave about the country from first hand experience or from friends they know who have been. So, what am I most excited about?

10. The weather is going to be 80-85 degrees and sunny every day

9. The Bosphorus Straits which separate Europe and Asia are supposed to be gorgeous and we should have a great view from our hotel room.

8. I loves me some hummus.

7. The mosques, frescoes, ruins, churches, museums, tiles, carpets etc. etc. etc.

6. Will be very interesting to see the culture and how things have changed with the new government, if at all.

5. Turkish men are pretty cute.

4. The nightlife in old Istanbul is supposed to be incredible.

3. Shopping at the Bazaar

2. Turkish coffee

1. I can’t believe this is a Strum trip with some beach-and-boat relaxation actually planned into it. Never thought I’d see the day.

Anyone been? Any tips or must- see’s?
